Heavy Metal Month II, Day 15) Song by a band with less than three members
Quorthon (Ace Börje Forsberg) was another influential figure in metal’s history who was taken too soon. He was instrumental in setting the tone for both the second wave of black metal and what is now known as Viking/pagan metal. Nordland I–IV was to be a set of four albums serving as his magnum opus, but sadly, Quorthon died from heart failure before he completed the third one.
So as a salute, we’ll feature the title song from the first entry of this ambitious endeavor, and just ponder what could have been, considering the quality of the first two.
